If you've been around my side of the family for long, you've probably had my mom's chocolate chip cookies. She actually got the recipe from a friend years ago, but they've been a family favorite ever since! The recipe makes a very large batch, so sometimes I cut it in half, or freeze half.
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups Crisco
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 eggs
3 cups instant oatmeal
1 bag chocolate chips
directions:
in medium bowl: sift together flour, baking soda & salt; set aside
in large bowl: cream together sugars & Crisco
add vanilla & eggs
slowly add flour mixture
stir in oatmeal & chocolate chips with a large spoon
roll into 1 inch dough balls & bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes
Enjoy!
